My Abundant Life Story: Dieira Henderson

Jul 23, 2019|Written By: Dylan Rosenthal

“The adventures I had were amazing and wonderful, but what I realize now as an adult is that God’s love and his truths were planted in me at such a young age.”

On June 13, former program participant Dieira Henderson shared her Abundant Life story with attendees of our 2nd Annual Art of Building Community benefit. Dieira’s involvement spans 19 years, and includes Johnson Tutoring and Bible Club, Bible Camp, Intelligent Girls, Ladies of Quality Jr. and Sr., and Kids Across America and CitiKidz Camps. In fact, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at one of these camps. Like many of our participants, Dieira also gave back, serving as a Bible Camp counselor as a teen and young adult.

Dieira is currently a preschool teacher and entrepreneur who was just baptized this Easter at her church, The Point. She acknowledged several current and former Abundant Life staff and volunteers who have served as mentors for her, some even to this day. Summing up her experience, Dieira stated, “The adventures I had were amazing and wonderful, but what I realize now as an adult is that God’s love and his truths were planted in me at such a young age and even though I still had and will have struggles there was and always will be God’s love, hope, and a fantastic support system.”
