This week, Advancement and Communications Director, Faith Kelley, spent precious time in the community with the youth in Greenstone Commons while passing out flyers for Registration Night.
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20, KJV
Abundant Life was founded for the purpose of walking alongside the Prospect Community, and relationships with our neighbors is what keeps our mission alive.
With the social effects of the Pandemic, being able to physically be a part of the community was really difficult and, ultimately, put on hold. Now that things are looking brighter, as far as social interactions go, Abundant Life is thrilled to be out and being one with its community again.
Faith Kelley had the wonderful opportunity to walk with the ED, Eddie Howard, to Greenstone Commons to pass out flyers for our upcoming Sign Up Night when her attention was caught by the youth playing outside after school. She spent time with them learning their names, ages, grades, and family members as they sat and ate FreezePops together. These weren’t just any FreezePops, they are passed out daily by a Greenstone resident, David Shackleford, who has been a member of the community for many years.
“As someone who spent most of their childhood as an only child, building friendships and having someone to look up to is extremely important. Especially when that person or people were sent by Christ to walk with you and demonstrate his love.” Faith Kelley, Advancement and Communications
