The Board of Directors for Charlottesville Abundant Life Ministries is excited to welcome Nathan Walton as its new Executive Director, effective April 1, 2018. Nathan’s education, professional experience, and community work have prepared him well for the responsibilities of directing Abundant Life. He holds a B.A. from UVA, an M.Div. from Duke Divinity School, and is soon to complete his Ph.D. in Religious Studies at UVA. Currently the Community Life Pastor at Charlottesville Vineyard Church, Nathan also volunteers with Abundant Life as a STRIVE Mentor and with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at UVA.
Nathan brings energy and thoughtfulness to the work of partner building, fundraising, vision casting, program development, and strategic planning. Ten years in Charlottesville have given Nathan a deeper understanding of the community, while also enabling him to build a strong network among the university, church, and neighborhood communities. He is passionate about the principles of Christian Community Development and is excited about how these principles can continue serving the residents of his own Prospect community. Nathan lives around the corner from the Abundant Life house with his wife, Diamond, and their one-year old daughter, Esperanza.
