We are pleased to introduce our first ever Abundant Life Fellows class! Under the supervision of Director of Leadership Development Richard Feero, the five members will serve 11-month terms, from August 2019 to July 2020. See below to get to know our Fellows!
KATY CORREA, Middle School Academic Assistant. Katy holds a B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University. Getting the opportunity to continue doing ministry after four years of leading WyldLife in State College is something she considers a blessing as she enters this next chapter. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, this is her first experience in C’ville. In addition to Walker and Buford Tutoring, Katy assists with Royal Girls, community engagement, and Early Childhood Development support.

RACHEL GAFFIN, Bible Club Assistant Coordinator. After graduating from UVA in 2017 with a B.A. in Poetry Writing and a minor in Religious Studies, Rachel stayed in C’ville to assist and then manage communications at the Center for Christian Study, a ministry for and to UVA students. In her free time, you can find her hanging out with friends, reading, at concerts, and practicing her guitar. In addition to Bible Club, Rachel assists Executive Director Nathan Walton and Dollars and $ense.

JAMES GILLIAM, STRIVE Assistant Coordinator. Originally hailing from Maynooth, Ireland, James graduated from James Madison University in 2019 with a degree in Political Science. James loves the outdoors, spending much of his free time hiking and playing sports. In addition to supporting mentors of 9th – 12th grade young men in STRIVE, James assists with Johnson Tutoring and database entry.

JONATHAN KNABE, Bible Club Assistant Coordinator. Originally from Germany, Jonathan has spent the past six years in Richmond going to college and working as an Audio Engineer at Third Church. Besides ministry, Jonathan loves any and every kind of ball sport including soccer, tennis, basketball, squash, etc. and also performing his own music at local open-mic nights and churches. In addition to Bible Club, he assists with middle school tutoring, the 5/8 Club, and event planning.

LYNSEY MEISSNER, Volunteer Coordinator/AmeriCorps VISTA. Lynsey graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies back in May and is excited to work alongside the youth in Prospect. Lynsey loves reading and discussing good books, smiling at ALL the dogs, eating a good meal with people she loves, and exploring the great outdoors. In addition to recruiting and coordinating volunteers, she assists with Royal Girls.
