Helping Prospect families experience abundant life

Nov 24, 2020|Written By: Nathan Walton

Dear Abundant Life Family,

In the midst of “social distancing,” we continue to see reminders of how God remains present and at work in the lives of Prospect neighborhood families. We are deeply grateful for the tangible impact your generosity provides. It reminds us that we are not alone. For these reasons, we have hope.

Even in 2020, Abundant Life is possible

During a season in which housing security remains a pressing concern for many, we have also seen prayers answered, as a recent participant in our Dollars & $ense personal finance class will close on her first home in December. During a year that witnessed a neighborhood fire temporarily displace 10 families, we also saw many of you contribute to our March fundraiser that provided over $26,000 in emergency assistance to families left with ruined furniture, damaged possessions, and nowhere to live. As Jessica, a displaced resident, remarked:

“I would like to take this time out to thank everyone that donated in my/our time of need. You will never know how much it meant to me and how much your help made my life get back to normal as possible! It’s such a great feeling to know that there’s still love and compassion along with people in the community that’s willing to help at such a vulnerable time.”

In addition, during a semester in which families have had to adjust to all-virtual education for their children, deepening partnerships with institutions like Christ Episcopal Church and Buford Middle School have enabled us to provide safe, socially distanced learning spaces for youth. Without your support this would not have been possible.

God is faithful

In such a challenging year, the hope that we see in the eyes of people like Jessica or the children in our elementary program are proof that the challenges of 2020 will not have the final word on God’s faithfulness, nor your faithfulness to God’s work. Your support allows us to impact our neighborhood, not simply with services and programs, but with the Gospel and the vision it provides for an Abundant Life in Christ.

As we continue to walk alongside Prospect families as they navigate unprecedented challenges related to COVID-19, your support is more important now than ever before. Donate today to break down barriers that stand between Prospect families and an abundant life.

We rely on your partnership to move our neighborhood and city one step closer to what we believe has always been God’s intention: an abundant life for all.

With Gratitude,
