Program Description
The Abundant Life Fellows Program is a two-year program that starts in August. There is a track for college students as well as a track for young adults not currently enrolled in school. The program is designed to equip young adults to engage their faith holistically through the practical theology of Christian Community Development. During these two years Fellows will build deep and formative relationships with each other and the Abundant Life family. These relationships and experiences will have a life-long impact on the Fellows and equip them for leadership in the church and workplace.
College Track
Students at PVCC and UVA may apply to be an Abundant Life Fellow. Students in the Abundant Life Fellows program are employed on a part-time basis for roughly 10 hours per week during two consecutive school years (not during the summer). For work they serve as Room Captains in our after school academic programs in the afternoons, Monday-Thursday. Fellows also participate in team building/round tables meetings and Bible Study for two evenings out of the week. There is a 2-3 day retreat or conference each season (4x a year).
Traditional Track
Young adults interested in full-time employment (30 hrs/wk) may apply to be an Abundant Life Fellow. Abundant Life Fellows are employed year round for a two-year term. They serve in a variety of capacities such as helping to jump start new programming, serving as assistants in current programming, supporting administrative tasks within the ministry, or being employed through one of our community partners. Fellows also participate in team building or round tables meetings and Bible Study for two evenings out of the week. There is a 2-3 day retreat or conference each season (4x a year). There is also a small fundraising expectation with this position.
Employment
Upon acceptance into the Fellows Program, applicants will then apply to work for Abundant Life or one of our partner organizations.
