The Dickerson House Dedication Ceremony

On Saturday, July 8th 2023, Abundant Life Ministries dedicated its 780 Prospect Avenue Building to the Dickerson Family; a staple family in the Prospect Avenue neighborhood whose family grew up in the house before it was sold by the family to the ministry. 

We were honored to be joined by the Dickerson family on such a memorable day as Dorenda Johnson, daughter, honored her father, mother, and their family home and reflected on many years of love and Sunday Family dinners that were hosted for many years at this house.

Executive Director, Eddie Howard, and the Governing Board of Abundant Life presented the family with a certificate of dedication and plaque that hangs on the house outside of the house labeled, “The Dickerson House, est. 2023.” As you enter the now Dickerson House, you will be greeted by a large image of Aubrey “Denny” and his wife Lena Dickerson. Each morning when coming to work and when community members enter the building, we can memorialize the family and reflect on God’s work in the community, as we all stand on the shoulders of Giants.
